Here is what I wore the other day when it was in the 40s... warm for winter but still too cold for bare legs and sheer, chiffon dresses. I wore one anyway!
J.Crew Jackie Cardigan
J.Crew wide patent belt from 2008 in root
J.Crew Signature Leggings
J.Crew Belstaff Shannon Boots
I received the dress the night before and really wanted to wear it so I found a way to winterize it. It was very comfortable and it worked for me. Not my finest outfit but not the worst, either. The dress still pops back from time to time and it is lined in 100% silk which is rare these days and is unfortunately not mentioned in the description! If you can get it for a good price, it's a versatile dress that can be worn in any season, I think. Thank you for stopping by!
I like the Maisie dress on you. I wanted to try it but most reviews were bad so I refrained from it. After seeing it here I think that maybe I should have ordered it after all. What size did you take?
ReplyDeleteHi ajc! This is a 10, which I only bought because it was the only size available. I can grab a couple inches of fabric at the waist but I don't think it looks too big, esp. with a belt. I think my normal size of 6 would have been fine but may have been fitted at the waist, and since this fabric has no give whatsoever, that could be uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteI can understand the bad reviews on the plain colors... this shape of dress needs some pizazz in the form of a print. The print is very beautiful... none of the pictures I've seen do it justice. It looks like a real watercolor painting.
the print on this dress is so pretty! can't believe I missed it!
