I haven't posted in almost a month. Not sure how that happened, but I'm still here, and still obsessively stalking jcrew.com every weekday at approximately 6:50am, eastern time for popbacks and new markdowns alike. Speaking of which, there was a huge update today, but the items I really want are still not on sale. Namely, the gingham Altuzarra dress! I need that! I ordered it a while back and planned to do a review but all my pictures were accidentally deleted. Hmph.
So, new arrivals! Hate to say it, but there is nothing I
have to have in this rollout. Here are the things I would like to have if I can get them at a substantial discount (I'm looking at you, Arden clearance store).
I think most of us will agree that the Tippi cardigan is lovely and we need it in at least 3-5 colors. Right? Unless, of course, it pills horribly after two wears (2009 infinity cardigan, I'm looking at you).

| Crepe knit sundress, $175 |
This is just cute, although it looks like it might be hard to wear even a strapless bra with it. I have
the skirt in a gorg kelly green (it is a sample), and I do love it. I am just not sure where the high price tag comes from... $75 more than the skirt to add a skimpy top? Not seeing it! Also, too bad it doesn't come in more colors.

| Cafe capri in kaleidoscope dot, $148 |
Ok, I will admit, I LOVE THESE PANTS. But the foulard capris looked terrible on me, so I don't have high hopes. Anyone else miss the "classic cafe capri" silhouette? I dunno, the legs on these new ones just seem slightly too slim. But I will probably "have to have" these when they go on sale.
How gorgeous is this bag? It seems a bit impractical, but I still loooove it:
 |
| Telegram suede mini satchel |
Reminiscent of some of the 2008 handbags, methinks.
 |
| Edie calf hair wallet, on promo for $158 |
This isn't brand spanking new, but I love it, and I ordered it. I have two J.Crew wallets from 2004ish and they are SUCH high quality... I'd love to add this beauty to my collection. I'll do a review when it arrives!
Did I miss any other gems/duds from the new arrivals? How hilarious is
this necklace? Do you agree with my picks?
I like your picks and laughed out loud at your comment about the Tippi cardigan (full disclosure: I ordered one color this morning as a "tester"). I posted my favorite things from this rollout here.
ReplyDeleteGood news on the kaleidoscope dot pants - they looked much better on me than the foulard capris did. I think the darker colors, busier pattern, and thicker fabric are all working in our favor here.
Hmmm - link didn't work, it was supposed to be:

I look forward to your review of the Tippi cardigan! As if I need enabling on that one...
DeleteI just checked out your review of the kaleidoscope pants. Wow. They look great on you. Even more excited about them now!
I'm hoping to make it to Asheville tomorrow (if my car can get fixed in time), and if I do, I'm really hoping the clearance center has some good stuff! Maybe even some of the new arrivals??? Fingers crossed. I really like the shape of the sundress, just wish it came in other colors besides orange. I already have the Cecelia from a couple years ago--no need to have 2 similar orange dresses!
ReplyDeleteMy fingers are crossed for you - I really hope they have some good deals and some new items!
DeleteITA, it needs to come in other colors. The orange has been done so many times!
I agree fully with you on the Tippi cardi. I love the dress too. OMG. When I saw that necklace, I thought WT...? I couldn't believe it. It looks like a bad knitting or crochet project.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few loves, among which are those I reviewed yesterday, plus the Biennial hobo. Hopefully it isn't as saggy as the satchel once you stick a wallet, phone and keys in it, but I will have to check that out for myself.
Haha, the necklace. The price makes it even better! I just wonder, who makes the decision to sell such items?
DeleteCan't wait to hear how the Biennial hobo is IRL!
Will you post pictures of the promenade skirt?? I've been eyeing it in navy, it looks so pretty and versatile. How's the fit? Hoping it goes on sale sometime soon...
ReplyDeleteSure! I am going to try to get a review post up this weekend. The only difference I can discern from mine and the "real" version is that mine has a drawstring. It's totally unnecessary so I can see why they didn't include it in the final version.
DeleteMine is a sample small, and it seems more like an XS, but the real version could be different. Even so, it stretched to fit me very nicely and it's extremely flattering!
I am so OVER orange. it doesn't need a new name, it needs to go AWAY.
ReplyDeleteI have nothing to say about that necklace that wouldn't offend someone. Or the manufacturers of the medications that that someone should not have stopped taking.
LOL, I thought of you when I read the description of the necklace. CLASSIC.
DeleteI just went to check out the ... ahem ... necklace to see what you were all talking about, and I am hugely offended by this description from the ... ahem ... copywriter: Slightly haphazard California boho with a touch of nautical chic.
ReplyDelete1. Us Californians don't need any help with our reputation for being weird. 2. Slightly?
I KNOW. "Slightly haphazard" really put me over the edge.
